Wordles
Jonathan Feinberg, the creative genius behind the Wordle idea refers to Wordle as “a toy for generating “word clouds.” Literally thousands of examples can be found at Fineberg’s website. And since a picture is worth far more than a drawn out explanation, you should visit his Wordle gallery to discover the many innovative ways that educators are using this free software in their classrooms.

Things to know about Wordle:

- Wordle will draw each word to a size that is proportional to the frequency at which it appears in a body of text so as to provide a captivating visualization of relative word use and importance.
- The size of a word can be made to be proportional to some selected measure that the Wordle maker wants to associates with that term.
