Believe it or not, strong fundamentals in mathematics are necessary for just about every career choice and are used every day. Yet math is commonly thought of as dry, boring, and many times unnecessary, and Western math scores are falling behind other first-world nations.
Evidence shows that hands-on learning and real-world applications are more effective at engaging student interest in and recall of material.This actually starts in pre-K and kindergarten with the physical and mental engagement of basic blocks. Blocks have been shown to help with a variety of math concepts in this age group including counting, addition, subtraction, sets, and seriation.
