Building a Better Mousetrap Car
This site gives information and directions for students to build mousetrap cars out of readily available materials. After constructing the car, students can calculate the speed of their car then modify it to see whose car can go the greatest distance.
This construction activity allows students to use the engineering design process then calculate speed.
