Word Play: Poetry Experiments. Author: Internet Public Library
This resource contains forty-nine poetry exercises in which students practice literary and sound devices. These can also be used in creative writing exercises.
These exercises can be used in application of poetic literary devices or after a poetry unit. Because there are so many, teachers can focus on a specific skill in a lesson, or allow students to choose exercises at the end of a unit. Many can be used as class activities. This website can also be given to students who are simply interested in poetry and want to better themselves as poets; students can work the exercises on their own.
