Teaching with Infographics: Places to Start. Author: The New York Times.
This learning blog offers multiple Times graphics in the forms of graphics, charts, pictures, and diagrams. An explanation of what infographics are and how they are used helps students understand graphics in newspapers and magazines. Categories of infograhics include health, science, civics, social studies, English/language arts, and entertainment. Within each of these categories exist a further breakdown. Hundreds of graphics are available. Videos are also accessible in some categories.
This resouce can be used to teach students about graphics, have students practice interpreting graphics, or encourage an in-depth analysis of graphics. Some graphics accompany texts while others do not. An excellent resource for real-life graphics, including diagrams, graphs, and illustrations.
