Earth Water Filter
Here we have a video of an experiment to see what filters water better: sand, gravel, cotton, or a combination. This is a great illustration of the scientific method, as well as water filtration.
The scientific method is illustrated in this video as two students attempt to discover the best material to make a water filter. Using sand, rocks, and other materials, the researchers discover the best way to filter dirty water. The video allows a chance for the students to make their own predictions, and a followup experiment using classroom materials would round off this lesson perfectly.
