Chromosome Viewer
This online interactive application allows students to view the human chromosomes and some of the different genes that have been mapped on them. Students can use this tool for research, or it can be used to simply demonstrate the vast amounts of information that we have about the human genome.
Students should understand that chromosomes are comprised of DNA, and the different segments of the human DNA strands carry information for unique traits. These genes have been mapped through the Human Genome Project, and now we can use this information for medical purposes.
