Physlets: Waves
Several links to physlets (Java applets constructed to teach principles of physics). Three of these are related to waves: Double Slit Interference,Two-Point Source Interference, and Reflections of a Longitudinal Wave. Three others show combinations of harmonics for a string or air column: Flute, Thumb Piano, Violin.
Each physlet provides an opportunity to make observations of phenomena that are often difficult to observe. For example, it is impossible to see each harmonic of vibration on an actual vibrating string or column of air, but physlets allow you to observe the superposition of harmonics or isolate combinations.
