Physlets: Light and Color
Several links to physlets (Java applets constructed to teach principles of physics). The following physlets listed at the site were designed to demonstrate principles of light and color: Light Dispersion through a Glass Slab, Light Dispersion through a Glass Prizm, Total Internal Reflection, Additive Colors, Rainbow Formation, and Internal Reflection.
These simulations allow students to vary the incident angle of light, create rainbows by dispersion, and demonstrate how fiber optic tubes take advantage of total internal reflection.
