Personal DNA Testing-Nova Now
In this Nova Now segment, genetic testing is evaluated. Genetic testing to assess risk factors for a handful of serious illnesses is now commercially available. But is it a good idea? This 12-minute video introduces the idea of personal DNA testing and what subjects can learn from the results.
This video can be downloaded or streamed and followed up with several activities. There is a question/answer session with a geneticist; an interactive about four different personal DNA tests and the results they provide; a printable lab that explains how to easily extract oneu2019s own DNA (with video guide) and other wonderful resources.
