Mitosis and Cytokinesis
This animation is one of many on a web-site developed by McGraw-Hill. These videos accompany their higher education biology textbook, and as a result, some of the animations are too detailed for the high school level. All videos are accompanied by clear graphics, a written transcript and an auditory explanation, which will serve all learning styles.
One of the great features of these videos is that they can be paused and replayed. This feature allows the teacher to use this resource in a variety of ways. This particular animation provides a wonderful overview of the processes of mitosis and cytokinesis. Students can watch the video on their own as an introduction to these processes of meiosis or watch it as a way to review for a summative assessment.
