Title: Energy WebQuest - 1
"This WebQuest basically focuses on work, power and energy with some additional focus on motion and forces. The objective of this WebQuest is to help students learn about work, power, energy, types of energy, energy transfer and conservation of energy. The lesson uses Rube Goldberg devices and Amusement Park rides to peak student interest and keep the motivated throughout the unit."
Please note that this particular activity will need to be assigned in advance since it will take several days for student completion.
In this webquest, students will research types of energy, energy transformations and the conservation of energy. This activity could be used as a final assessment requiring students to create a blueprint or model of a Rube Goldberg device or an amusement park ride demonstrating these concepts. This activity involves research, synthesis, presentation and serves as an interdiciplinary approach that encompasses Science, Math and English. Excellent extention activity closley tied to the GLE.
