Inside a Cell
This link is part of a larger website called Learn.Genetics, developed by The University of Utah. The entire site is one of the premiere educational resources for genetics and cells and can be used to develop curriculum that will align with several science standards.
This interactive allows teacher/student to scroll over a cell and identify organelles whose functions are explained in call out boxes. Clicking on the organelles launches a visually stunning simulation of what the organelle actually looks like while it is performing its particular cellular function. Some of the information is a little more challenging, but could be a wonderful enrichment activity.
