Human Genome Project-Education Kit
This site was developed and is continually updated by the National Institutes of Health (NIH) and serves as one of the premier content resources for life science/biology teachers.
For several years the NIH has developed and distributed a CD-ROM called u201cUnderstanding The Human Genome Projectu201d in order to the keep the public and educational community up to date on genomic changes. This website serves the same purpose, but is more dynamic. The activities, videos and multimedia are generally too complicated for most middle school classrooms, but will serve as a wonderful teacher resource for background information. The world of genetics changes daily and it is imperative that teachers are able to impart the most up-to-date information possible to their students. The site even gives the teacher the opportunity to download individual multimedia for use in the classroom free of charge.
