Using Models to Build an Understanding of Functions
This is an article that explains how to plan and model the differences between quadratic, linear, and exponential functions. There are three relatively easy models to use in a classroom to demonstrate the functions.
This resource has a great deal of written material for the classroom teacher. This article needs to be read first before beginning to teach the lesson. There are also three models for teachers and students after reading the article. The hands on activites are quite easy to explain to students and involves a small amount of preparation.
