A Guide to Effective Instruction in Mathematics (for Science)
This is a large document that is geared towards teaching mathematical standards, but is beneficial for K-3 grade teachers when teaching data collection in science. The chapter on collection and organization of data is very helpful with simple methods for collecting data and methods for organizing data into graphs. This is a great resource that describes the main purpose for collecting and organizing data and includes instructional strategies for primary grade levels. The guide includes multiple templates and activities.
