How do you know if a claim is true?
This list of claims looks at types of claims in order for readers to evaluate the claim itself. The list of claims includes the following: empirical, valuative, metaphysical, and analytical. This resource can be used as a part of a larger unit using an excerpt of Avi's Nothing But the Truth (http://www.auburn.edu/pctl/models/Reading/nothingbut/truth.html). This unit looks at various aspects of fact vs. opinion and use of language.
