Levels of Organization (Cells, Tissues, Organs and Organ Systems)
This lesson plan is a part of a larger curriculum. As a teacher you may want to look at the entire unit, which contains several resources. This is a simple lesson plan for introducing levels of organization in the organisms. There are references specifically to the Prentice Hall book and a diagram, but there are several other visuals available on-line. Students will list, describe and give examples of the four levels of organization in organisms: cells, tissues, organs, and organ systems. As a follow-up activity, the student is also asked to create a metaphor and visual to describe organizational levels.
