Research Guide: Assessing Sources (PBS.org)
This handout is used for evaluating the credibility and validity of a resource, particularly when doing research using the Internet. It provides insight into which sources are the most effective for research and how/when to use them; this also provides an area for students to gather information and log research. This handout can be used in conjunction with a larger research project to guide students in resource assessment. This PDF gives in-depth information about types of resources (i.e. blogs, television, online journals) and covers topics such as authority, objectivity, and timeliness to aid students in gathering information effectively.
