A continuously growing body of research shows that time spent outside is one of the most effective resources to increase academic achievement in all children, regardless of background. Time spent in nature has shown to decrease stress; improve immune function and relationships; and increase impulse control, information retention, academic engagement, and creativity. And that’s just the beginning. Unfortunately, we are continuing the trend of keeping children indoors in the name of academic achievement. Let’s discover together why and how we should reverse this alarming trend.
