Math, Science, Wiggly Time, Creative Writing, Debate...there's a beat for that! Let's explore several ways to incorporate music into your classroom. Why? Music can help improve information retention, raise test scores, set a mood, assist in creative writing, expand vocabulary, and, perhaps most importantly, reach and give voice to students who don't always tune in. We will visit Flocabulary, Incredibox, YouTube, and more, all in an effort to explore ways that music can liven up our daily classroom routine and engage students on multiple levels. This is no sit-and-get! I won't require you to sing or rap in front of the room, but we will compose some dope rhymes for our Ignite contest! Come for the game; leave with the fame (and some engaging, actionable, ready-to-use ideas).
