Just like Dorothy and Toto are not in Kansas anymore, students are not just reading and writing in ELA class anymore. Reading and writing should be integrated in all content area classrooms in order to maximize student learning potential. This presentation will highlight engaging technology with multiple cross-curricular adaptions while focusing on critical thinking.

Join us for this poster session focused on the deliberate practice in a Paideia Socratic Seminar—both as a strategy for enhancing the intellectual life of our classrooms preparing all students for the rigorous demands of academic standards and practicing your own ability to think conceptually and communicate collaboratively.

In order to meet the demands of education reform efforts, teachers must engage in effective professional development. This poster session will present the findings of a study that examined the potential of the lesson study process in supporting the professional development goals of elementary science teachers.
